B.A.B.E, the biggest Steampunk gun shoots smoke
People who love Steampunk style would definitely love B.A.B.E, a customized gun which is possibly the largest Steampunk Gun ever made. The gun depicts an amazing blend of modern concepts with scientific inventiveness by Hatton Cross Steampunk. Actually, this huge gun is not meant to kill it just shoots a shower of smoke along with some glitzy lights. B.A.B.E’s actual name is “Behemoth Acaulescent Blunderbuss of Eradication.”
You must be curious to know about how this amazing gun has been crafted. Here we go. First step was modifying a five liter French wine barrel into a 2 x 12 rifle. Beautiful curvy rifle stock was made in a jigsaw puzzle manner with the help of an electric chisel. After the carving and sanding was complete, the stock was layered using polyurethane. Now rifle stock was complete and the next step was to cut barrel to create room inside it. This space would be used for producing smoke using pipes and other electronic equipment. Even the minor details were kept in mind like the hinges were made using Brass.
A hole was carved in the barrel and the pattern could be made using a waste pizza box. The hole would be used to fit the Whizzer stick. Then next step was cutting copper caps and fastening them to the base of the barrel in a circular manner keeping space for PVC pipe. Then copper barrels were attached to the copper caps and finally rifle stock was attached to the barrel.
Further decorations were done to adorn the gun with flashy LED lights, brass key hook at the top with rubber hose attached to it, ceiling fan chains and even a rugged strap to make it look perfect. To boost the entire look the artist even used colorful painted plastic design on barrel surface which in a way completed its look.
The stunning piece of art, B.A.B.E has been sold off by Hatton Cross Steampunk. We could just appreciate the work and look up for more like this one. For more images scroll below.
