Intelligent Bike Light flashes and alerts the rider on sensing danger

Riding a bicycle is fun but driving on busy roads among other hefty automobiles is sure to leave you with safety concerns. IDEO London hosted a two days event where designers and hackers from all across the world exhibited their brilliance and expertise. Jeremy Innes-Hopkins an Industrial Designer along with his team created a very useful device for cycle safety.

The team created a smart lighting system called Intelligent Bike Light that is attached to the saddle with proximity sensors. This is to sense the nearness of the vehicle running behind, if the vehicle comes too close to the bike then the sensor alerts the rider by flashing light and producing siren. The team also designed an app that could allow one to plan a safe course. It also gives safety tips and an added feature that allows you to get discount on bike safety products.
